At this exit there are two "fastlanes," and two mixed mode lanes. That being said you have potential for 4 lanes of traffic that merge into two lanes. The exit is clearly a two lane exit and vehicles need to merge into those two lanes, painting lines wouldn't alter the flow of traffic as the vehicles merge.

Thanks for responding, DOT team. As the traffic approaches the split to go to Cambridge/Boston or Allston/Brighton, there's ALWAYS three lanes of traffic there. This is much farther along than the immediate merge after the toll booth. The photos here are at least 1000 feet away from the merge, if not more. Would lane stripes help far beyond the merge? Please let us know your thoughts.
